A gathered land, at the heart of Umbria
Collazzone keeps Umbria's most intimate character: rolling profiles, small historic centres, roads crossing the green, and an agricultural landscape that is still legible. Here the vine is part of a wider mosaic, alongside olive groves, woods and fields. The winery's location lets you experience an authentic part of the region and reach some of its best-known places, including Todi, Perugia, Assisi and Montefalco.
The work begins in the vineyard
Grape quality is built with continuity. In the Baldassarri vineyards, topping, leaf removal and cluster thinning help manage the canopy, exposure and yield: keeping a low yield per vine favours ripening, concentration and the integrity of the fruit. The vineyard is never a still scene, it changes every day and calls for precise decisions, following the seasons and the needs of each variety.
Local roots, open outlook
Grechetto and Sagrantino tell the story of the bond with Umbria. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Viognier and Incrocio Manzoni broaden the winery's expressive range and show how international varieties can find their own identity in the hills of Collazzone: it is not about choosing between tradition and research, but about understanding what voice each grape can take on in this place.
